Erma Crompton obituary

Mrs. Erma Olsen Tipton, 85, of 966 30th, died Wednesday, Setp. 28, 1977, at the McKay-Dee Hospital after an extended illness.

Mrs. Tipton was born June 21, 1892, in American Fork, Utah, a daugher of Robert Demette and Nora Misener Crompton.

She was married to Joseph William Olsen on April 10, 1910, in the Logan LDS Temple. He died in 1956. She was married to William Owens in Reno, Nev. He died in 1962. She was married to George R. Tipton on Oct. 3, 1963.

She was a member of the LDS Church and had been active as a Relief Society visiting teacher for 50 years. She was a member of the Auxiliary to Woodmen of the World, Moose Lodge Auxiliary and Eagles Lodge Auxiliary. She was a Navy Gold Star Mother.

She was reared and educated in American Fork and Garland, Utah, and graduated from the Brigham Young Academy in Logan.

She lived in Oregon and Washington and came to Odgen in 1923.

Surviving are her husband of Ogden; two sons and one daughter. Don C. Olsen, Harold C. Olsen, both of Ogden, Mrs Howard R (Erma) Nelson, Washington Terrace; 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are one brother and one sister, Dwayne Crompton, Tremonton, and Mrs Sylvia Bailey, Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 12 noon in the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary with Bishop J Hillman Stevens of the Ogden 17th Ward officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment in the Ogden City Cemetery.
