Arthur Seymour Curry obituary

Tooele Transcript Bulletin
February 10, 2004
Arthur Seymour Curry

Arthur Seymour Curry passed away February 6, 2004 in Salt Lake City, Utah after a lingering illness. Art was born in Tooele, on Feb. 8, 1919, to Seymour Wallace Curry and Elsie Jane Hanks Curry.

On May 10, 1940 he married his life long partner Mary Jane Griffith and they had sixty-four happy years together.

Dad worked at the Tooele Combined Metals plant in Bauer for 19 years after which he became a master journeyman plumber until retirement. Dad was an avid hunter and fisherman who spent many happy hours in the outdoors. He often spoke of his days at Tooele High School where he lettered in football, basketball, track, among many other sports, and in 1937 traveled to Hawaii as part of the high school championship team. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who spoke in glowing terms about those he loved. He is survived by his wife; sons Brent (Vickey) Curry, Tooele, Arthur 'Tuck' (Shauna) Curry, Bountiful; and daughter Jane (Jerry) Wilson, Centerville; his grandchildren Holly, Brenda, Brett, Aime, Clint, Kris, Chad, Brad, Quincy, Ann, Ellen; and 20 great grandchildren. Services will be held at the Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main St. Tooele, Utah at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2004. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be at the Tooele City Cemetery immediately following the services.
