Fascinating site and great information.

As I'm sure you know pre-1750ish the Jefferies were predominantly in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. My ancestors are originally from Wiltshire so I'm probably not connected in any way! Our family have managed to move all of 180 miles in 300 years. Not so impressive as William Jefferies.

Good luck with all your research.

I stumbled across this site while doing a google search on my surname, and what a surprise i got. Many of the old pictures actually look like my family now. Funnily enough it is the nose of the Jefferies that made the shock. Maybe somewhere down the line we are part of the family tree. We have a few of us left here in England, and some in Australia. Keep up the good work, as i will be visiting this site many times now.

Enjoyed browsing through your site. I'm sure we're related somewhere back, although I couldn't find any easily identifiable links. I am a convert to the LDS church, the first in my family line that I knew of, until I discovered a 3rd or 4th great aunt, Eliza Jeffries Slack, who joined the LDS church in England, and emigrated to America. Thanks for putting this all together. Great site!

Hello, I am from Indiana and I have a grandpa named William Jeffries. I was looking and I was wondering when the name changed spelling a little. My great grandfather's name was William Jeffries as well, and he was from Kentucky.

I just thought that it was so neat that there was a website williamjefferies.org

My father was Ivan Jefferies, raised in Comber Ontario Canada. His mother was named Florence, and I think his father was named William. I also think that I was told that his family came from Bristol England. Dad died when I was 6, and I know nothing about his family, except the names of some of his siblings:
Arthur, Edith, Dorothy, Kay.
If anyone knows anything about this family, I would appreciate knowing more about my heritage.

I want to thank all of you that are keeping up this site and providing information. Aunt Sarah Jefferies and my mother were sisters. So I am very interested in the Marvin Jefferies family. I happened to find the site by accident and then found out that many of my cousins had been in Grantsville for a reunion. Then today I find out that my cousin Marvin has died and that his cousin (unrelated to me) also died who happens to be married to my cousin Camille from my dad's side of the family. I offer my condolences even though very late to Marvin's family. By the way I also found out that Bill and his wife are in South Africa. After reading all this I feel like I just came out of a dark hole.

I just wanted to say how truly inspiring it is to see a web-site like this. I love the genealogy and the pictures associated with each family. Please keep up the great work. If ever there is a cost involved to keep this site up and running, then I would love to offer assistance. I am a great-grandson of James Williams (through Jean). I would love to send pictures of my family. Please let me know if I can send some. Thank you.

Lovely site, lovely to read, so many photographs, I wish I had as many of my family.

I am related to Mary Ann Thirby/Tharby who married Thomas Flinder here in the UK. Her sister Alice b1862 was my GGrandmother. I would love to hear anything about her and the family.

Thank you so much for putting this site up my dad told me about it and I was very interested to see who my ancestors are especially since my generation hardly knows about any of that stuff. I think it's really cool too see that I have so much family with the same last name and how interesting it is to see how far we have come. Keep up the good work and hopefully one day i will be able to put my children on there and continue that family name. Keep up the good work.

I am a descendant of Mary Ann Tharby's Uncle John (born in Hunsdon Hertfordshire). Uncle John married a Sally (maiden name unknown) and they had George Tharby (born in Northaw Hertfordshire) who married Rebecca Thorn and had two sons and two daughters, one of the daughters was Bethia Tharby my Great Grandmother on my Mother's side.
