Hi Everyone.
I'm not a relative (unfortunately), but stumbled on this website about a year ago, and was delighted to read William Jefferies' journal account of his life.
I am currently doing a Master Degree in Regional Histories in Bristol, and am involved in compiling a piece of work about early LDS converts in that city, where part of William's journal account is based. When I came to look for the journal online I found that it has now been removed. Is there anyone who would be so kind as to email me a copy of it, as it would be a very useful resource for my work?
Many thanks,
Chris

For the many of you who have asked when my sequel to Zion's Promise will be published, I'm pleased to announce it is now published and available on my website, www.zionspromise.com. Look for Volume 3, Amidst War's Alarms. Volumes 1 and 2 are my original Zion's Promise (yellow cover) republished in two shorter volumes.

Hi, I just wanted to inform, whomever it may concern reading this, that I exist...I am the only biological son of John R. Jefferies, son of Albert Jefferies, son of William Jefferies. My neighbours recently stumbled onto the discovery that, contrary to my belief, the Jefferies family was still alive and well and is was more or less the Albert branch (my grandfather) that would have been declared almost extinct. Wm. Jefferies, for whom the website is named, is therefore my great-grandfather. I was absolutely thrilled when a neighbour showed me a book, "Zion's Promise' and realised its subject matter. Everyone, as far as I know, from the original Albert Jefferies clan has passed on and I am one of the only living male descendants (and as far as I know, the only one..but). Just wrote to say hello to all my second cousins and first/second cousins "once removed" I didn't know exist! God bless you all for keeping this website up!

I am looking at an old family photograh of Matilda jefferies known as "Aunt Te". There is no date on the photograph but it was produced by New York Gallery of Photography, Lancaster PA. Would this be the same Matilda as on your website?

Re Pat Smith's entry connecting herself with Mary Ann Tharby:
I think you have confused two John Tharbys. Although it is an unusual surname there is the difficulty of the frequent use of coomon christian names.
I think the John Tharby who married Sally Scrivener and had son George at Northaw was probably born at Little Berkhamstead.
John Tharby the uncle of Mary Ann Tharby who married Thos Flinders was born at Hunsdon and married someone else.

I came across your web site. William Jefferies babtized my GGGG Grandmother and Grandfather Henry Criddle and Mary Bull Criddle. They are mentioned several times in his missionary journal. They helped feed him and give him a place to stay. I would not have known that had you not posted this to your site.
Thanks

While showing my dad how great the internet is we stumbled across this site,
must say the receding hairline and nose look quite familiar.
We (as far as I know) are descendants from Jack Jefferies who came over with the
1920 settlers from the UK. Great site.
